Etta, you will always be a hero to those who loved you, but now your legacy lives on as someone else’s saving grace.

Your kindness and love continue through the lives you’ve touched, and I know you would have adored the person who now carries a part of you. He is incredible, just as you were. Your spirit, your generosity, and your love will never be forgotten. You are deeply missed, but your light shines on in those you’ve helped.

Rylee was the brightest light you would ever encounter!

She gained her wings at only 5 years old due to a tragic car accident with her father. For many, she was exactly what you needed in that time whether it be a smile, a hug, or the most heart-filled compliments. She was obsessed with the constellations and could tell you exactly what that big word meant at only 5 years old!

She also loved the movie Frozen, butterflies, hamburgers, dinosaurs, bible study, and all things GLAMOROUS! Her singing and dance parties were her favorite talents to display, and her favorite color was lavender. Her long curly hair, emerald green eyes and infectious smile will be missed by all who had the privilege to encounter her.

Rylee was our shining star, and she now gets to bless others with her light in a different way through the gift of donation. Her legacy will live on 5 Ever & 1.

Gary was an exceptional person. He helped anyone and everyone, and was loved by everyone.

He never met a stranger, everyone was his friend.

She loved sunsets, rivers, creeks, the beach, going to the lakefront, swimming, reading, listening to music, going on family vacation, hanging out with friends, and helping others. She truly touched so many hearts and lives in her life; and continued to touch hearts and lives in her death.

She was one of my one of my heroes (as her siblings and nieces and nephews were my other heroes); and she is now the hero to many others.

She could walk in any room and just brighten it up with her infectious smile and laugh. To the families that received any part of her, especially her heart, I truly wish you all the very best; and please take care of my baby girl for me, as you now have a part of her. I made the decision to donate my baby girl (which was very hard to do, as it was admitting my baby was gone) because it would have been what she truly wanted.

Daxxon was and will forever be my beautiful boy. He had two sisters that loved him dearly and grandparents that shined when they saw him. Aunts, uncles and cousins that adored him. Daxxon had eyes that would just capture you when you looked at him and a smile that would stop you in your tracks. He was so beautiful.

October 16, 2022 he passed away from SIDS. Which is Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. He was 5 and a half months old. No parent should ever have to endure the pain of losing their child, but it happens more often than not. I realized that God had bigger plans for him. He was with me for only a moment, but he is a memory that I will forever cherish.

He will forever be my baby, my beautiful boy, my angel. Daxxon was not only a HERO to me, but he is a HERO by helping save the lives of two others with his heart through LOPA. I pray I can meet his recipients one day but if not I will still be forever blessed he was able to help save them.

He is and will forever be a HERO.

I know whomever is looking through your eyes sees the world because of you. A heart was mended as a result of your loss, but I know another mother is finding joy with the gifts you gave because a selfish person decided to steal you.

I find comfort knowing that a spirit as beautiful as yours is living within someone else.

With heavy hearts but immense pride, we honor the life and legacy of Bret Flowers. In his passing, he gave the greatest gift of all, the gift of life. Through his selfless act of organ donation, he has become a beacon of hope for others, offering second chances and renewed tomorrows to those in need.

Bret lived with kindness, generosity, and spirit that touched everyone he met. Though our hearts ache in his absence, we find comfort in knowing that his legacy lives on, not just in our memories, but in the lives he has saved.

To those who were blessed by his gift, we hope you carry a piece of his incredible spirit forward. And to all who knew and loved him, let us honor his memory continuing to spread love, kindness, and generosity, just as he did.

Michael Shawn Snider was a beloved son, brother, uncle, friend, husband, bonus father, and new "poppa" (grandfather). An avid Saints fan, his sense of humor was endless, and his personality was animated and youthful. He could often be found playing air guitar at an intersection or asking for reviews on the latest albums of his favorite bands or movies.

It's no surprise to me that even in death, he chose to help someone else—his heart was as big as his personality.

To know Michael Shawn was to know laughter, friendship, and love—a love that will exist beyond this lifetime.

Asher was a witty and compassionate young man. He loved to learn about animals but especially about birds.

When Asher received his driver's license and was asked to be an organ donor his response was, "Yes. What am I going to do with them?" We know he would be proud to have helped others with his gift.

He was diagnosed with high functioning autism at a young age and struggled to make sense of the world. His heart was always to be compassionate towards others and would want to help when he felt there was a need. His unexpected death has left a hole in his dad’s heart, mom’s heart, and sister's heart. But his loss is also felt in this world. Asher would want people to learn from him to accept people for who they are and to be compassionate in all situations.

My brother was an extraordinary man—an entrepreneur, military sergeant, and devoted father. He was deeply loved by everyone who knew him, and he had a genuine love for life. Social by nature, he thrived on meeting new people and was always willing to help others, even if it meant giving the shirt off his back. As a brother, he was incredibly caring and protective of his four sisters, and as a father, he dedicated himself fully to his four sons.

He truly had a heart of gold.

As his sister and the oldest among the sisters, I had the privilege of knowing him best. We were just three years apart, and we shared many childhood memories growing up together. It would mean a great deal to me, my mom & sisters to one day meet the person who received his beautiful heart, to know how it continues to beat and bring life to someone else.

She graduated high school in 2020 and always wanted to take over our catering business one day. She was so sensitive to people and their needs and was always ready to help and give to people. She would go with me to the hospital too and she loved to pray with me for people’s needs.

I remember when Adah got her driver’s license, she was so proud to be an organ donor. We just never thought it would be so important of a decision.

Our daughter, our hero. When she passed away in August of 2023, we were devastated.

When I learned that she had signed up to be an organ donor, I was so proud of her. It was not something that I thought she would sign up for, as a part of the younger generation, but she did!

Through our pain, it helps to know that she lives on and has helped others even after death.

From a young age Mason had an incredibly strong relationship with Jesus. He loved the Lord with all his heart and was an active member in his church. Mason participated in youth group, served yearly at Vacation Bible School, and helped lead monthly bible lessons for the youngest members of the Life Fellowship Community Church. He readily shared his faith in the Lord with others — his classmates at J.B. Martin Middle School, his teammates on the football field and basketball court, and his family and friends in all the moments in between.

Perhaps his close, personal relationship with the Lord was best highlighted by the moments shortly after his accident, when, in the midst of the pain and fear he was likely experiencing, he asked his mom and stepfather to please pray over him.

Second only to God, this boy loved football! He could effortlessly rattle off obscure statistics about the entire roster of the New Orleans Saints like he could quote his favorite Bible verse (Jeremiah 17:7-8). With clarity that is not typical for someone this age, Mason aspired to use his platform as a future NFL Hall of Famer to preach in the name of Jesus.

Mason was a sweet and loving boy who had a way of making you feel seen, heard, and loved. He never met a stranger and would talk your ear off given the chance. Unbeknownst to even his immediate family, Mason registered to be an organ donor when applying for his hunting license just 3 months before his accident.

We are completely crushed, but, we find peace knowing that through Mason’s death, he was able to save the lives of others through organ donation. We miss him terribly but we trust in the Lord that we will see him again.

My Hero is my middle son, Sean.

The other 6 siblings called him the Golden Child & a Momma's boy. They weren't wrong. As his mother, we had a very special bond, as well has everyone he knew and loved. He was literally everyone's best friend. He was everyone's first call when in need and he always showed up.

With those amazing qualities, he became a Police Officer. He loved his job and was very good at it. He was Rookie of the Year his first year and never stopped excelling. He was a jack of all trades, could build anything from scratch, loved to cook, was a husband and a very involved father. He loved playing his guitar and singing or playing his drums. He was our whole family's world.

After he passed in a tragic car accident, it was no surprise to find out Sean was a donor, he lived to help others. And now, he helped others in his death. Forever our Hero, and now he is yours too!!!

My brother saved at least 4 lives when he passed away back in December of 2023.

Van made the decision to be a donor long ago, and his brother and sister carried out his wishes. He will be a hero to several people who have been waiting for a call. A call that says “we found a match”.

His eyes will go on to see, and at least 3 of his other organs will help someone live. He has given the gift of life to so many in such a short time.  What he couldn't accomplish here on earth, GOD had other plans for him to help. 

Christine passed December 9, 2023, and she donated her organs to save and heal lives.

Chris always had a desire to share her blessings with others. She was a dedicated blood donor as well. 

The family is very thankful for the kindness and support that LOPA has shown during the process of the organ placements as well as the staying in touch with us for support care if needed.

May God bless each and everyone involved with LOPA and let the kindness and compassion continue to grow in you all.

She was the best daughter, and a loving person in this world.

In February of 2022 I had my daughter Katherine and unfortunately she passed.

Katherine was here for a very short period of time, but she touched so many lives while she was alive and possibly saved one.

We miss her so much.
